Producent: Chema-Elektromet
Ferric sulfate gel for vital pulpotomy of primary teeth and bleeding control

Packaging available

Primary package: syringe with protective cap, containing 2.4 g of gel - type formulation product.

Application

Preparation on the basis of ferric sulfate is intended for pulpotomy - for vital amputation in primary teeth.

Preparation is useful for minor bleeding control that is a result of dental treatment.

How to handle the product

  • Remove protective cap from the syringe, rewind the piston slightly. Fix disposable tip (blunt ended needle, best with fine brush). Check regularity of gel's distribution.
  • After removal of disposable tip rewind the piston slightly to remove gel from the syringe ending Close the syringe with protective cap.

Vital pulpotomy:

  1. Rub preparation into pulp horns. After appearance of excessive amount of dark clot, flush with water and aspirate using aspirator with hight suction power. To achieve optimal effect of rubbing use applicator ended with brush e.g. dental infusor.
  2. After hemorrhage is arrested rinse tissues by air and water-flow. Remove gel remains and created clot accurately.
  3. Recommended application time is about 15 sec.
  4. In case of persisting bleeding repeat procedure.
  5. Bleeding from pulp horns, despite application of gel may indicate pulpitis, in this case alternative treatment is needed.
  6.  In case of vital amputation, after flushing out PULPOGEL® form chamber and drying the cavity, apply ZOE and final restoration.

Bleeding control:

1. Rub in bleeding tissues for about 15 sec to arrest the hemorrhage. After appearance of excessive amount of dark clot, flush with water and aspirate using aspirator with hight suction power.

2. After hemorrhage is arrested (when new clot is not uprising) rinse tissues by air and water-flow. Unremoved ferric sulfate may cause temporary discoloration of teeth tissues and may interfere with setting of silicone impression materials.

3. In case of bleeding repeat procedure.

4. Recommended application time is about 15 sec. It may be prolonged up to 3 min. In case of correct application effect occurs after a dozen or several dozens of seconds of rubbing.

Description of operation

Gel inducts haemostasis: during contact with blood it forms protein-sulfate complexes, which are closing blood vessels. It's advantage is simplicity and quickness of application: rub it into the pulp horns. Next, in case of vital pulpotomy, after removal from the chamber (by air and water-flow) apply ZOE and final restoration.

Preparation may be used as a haemostatic agent for capillary hemorrhage during intraoral procedures. Strongly rubbed in bleeding tissue, it forms clots of coagulated blood located in orifice of capillary. Rubbing also cuts off  part of a clot that is standing out of the vessel's level and forms a cap permanently closing the vessel. Tissues should be cleaned by a strong flush of air and water-flow, which removes clots, remains of gel and verifies effectiveness of haemostasis.
