Application
The product is used for final filling of the root canal as well as for sealing the canals with the application of dental points.
How to handle the product
Before placing the material it is necessary to prepare the canal properly pursuant to the regulations binding during the endodontic treatment (the treatment field secured with dental dam, the canal mechanically prepared, carefully rinsed, disinfected and dried). The paste should be prepared directly before application on the glass plate inserting the small portions of the powder into eugenol carefully mixing and rubbing until the paste consistency is obtained. During the process of mixing it is possible to detect insignificant granularity which is caused by agglomeration of thymol iodide and does not have a negative influence on the quality of material.
The canal must be filled up to the physiological foramen that must be localized in advance. While working with the product use the standard dental instruments.
- The proportion of mixing: 50 g of the powder/0.10 g of eugenol which practically corresponds to: 3 flat measuring spoons of the powder for 2 drops of eugenol or multiple of this portion.
- Directly after taking the portion of powder it is necessary to close the container tightly.
After preparing the paste it is essential to follow the approved technique, i.e. filling the root with the sole material or sealing with the application of dental points.
It is necessary to take an X-ray image of the treated tooth for control of the filling (before, during and after the treatment).
Description of operation
The product is produced in the form of powder that must be mixed with Eugenol for making ZnOE pastes before using in order to obtain the easily applied paste. After placing the paste in the root canal the material hardens forming the homogeneous solidified mass within the time period from a few to max 72 hours. The material does not resorb and tightly fills the canal.
The product displays strong anti-inflammatory properties due to the content of hydrocortisone acetate. Due to the content of thymol iodide the product demonstrates strong antiseptic properties. These properties remain until setting of the material.
Taking into account the setting time, film thickness and solubility the product meets the requirements of EN ISO 6876.
